CHARACTER INFO
Name: Yosuke Hanamura
Gender: Male
Source: Persona 4
Canon point: Post-true ending, directly before the protagonist leaves to return home.
Age: 16
Colour: #f78f16
Chumhandle: seekingStorms
History: Wikiwikiwiki.
Personality: Yosuke is... kind of a huge dork, really. He can be pretty clumsy - hell, you're introduced to him in-game when he crashes his bike into a tree - and isn't the most tactful of people, often saying inappropriate or unthoughtful things without thinking. Kind of understandable, since he's relatively new in town and not exactly hugely popular. He tries a little too hard, sometimes, to seem casual and to get people to like him, as he probably didn't have many friends even before being uprooted and moved to an entirely different town. He has a pretty boring life, which he resents, and dreams of a more exciting, interesting life.
Despite covering it up with a cheerful smile and goofy personality, Yosuke is a pretty lonely kid until he becomes close to the protagonist of the game. Other kids at school aren't exactly friendly to him, due to his father owning the store that's driving all the small family-owned businesses out of work, and the girl he had a crush on was only being friendly to him because of his father's status. Thankfully, in the past year, things have gotten much better for him, but he still seems to depend on his friends' acceptance and the validation of getting to be a "hero" by helping with the murder investigation and fighting in the other world.
Abilities & physical limitations: He's got about the level of strength you'd expect from a teenage boy who's been training in combat for a year - nothing too far above average, but all that dungeon-crawling has built up his strength and endurance a fair amount. He's also quite agile and quick on his feet, talented with knives and similar weapons, and is much better at close-combat fighting than anything long distance without the help of his Persona. Along with the usual human weaknesses, he's even more easily injured than the normal person when it comes to attacks based in electricity.
Appearance: Some loser with headphones.
Notable AU differences from canon, if applicable: None (unless you consider the true ending to be AU.)
Strife Specibus: 2x Kunaikind
Prototyping: Broken "Trial of the Dragon" DVD - underlings dressed in traditional-style kung fu uniforms
Title: Magician of Gale
In-game abilities: His god tier powers correlate to his evolved Persona, Susano-o, who in Shinto mythology is the god of the sea and storms- he has the ability to (somewhat) control rain and wind, although these can get out of hand if he's using these powers when he's in a particularly emotional state. (Think sudden thunderstorms after a particularly bad surge of anger. Not good when one of your weaknesses is lightning...)
Planet: Land of Cloud and Turn. It's a rainy land resembling a small Japanese town, if a small town stretched on for miles and miles monotonously, almost seeming to loop back to itself as you travel through. The buildings, street signs, and everything else in sight is in various shades of gray, giving the world the appearance of being faded and dreary. It's hard to navigate easily as the layout seems to repeat itself, making finding distinguishing landmarks difficult. Its consorts are toads. The neverending rain and repetition are due to the work of the land's denizen, Jiraiya, who seems to have some ability to make any heroes that come near it doubt themselves and their abilities more and more as they come near to its lair. The closer you are to it, the more you begin to question whether you're doing this for the game or your own personal glory, convincing you to forget about the other players and just continue on solely for yourself. It uses your own insecurities against you, basically.

SS: i thought we were done with this kind of crazy shit.
SS: you know, save the day, bask in the glory, all that stuff.
SS: i mean, i don't think there'd be much glory, because it's not like we could just go to the police and explain we caught a murderer by climbing into a tv screen and fighting a giant eyeball, and a god, they'd think we were crazy.
SS: but, you know, some glory.
SS: ... aaaand i'm getting completely off-track here. get it together, yosuke! (;¬_¬)
SS: anyway, yeah, if anyone knows what i'm supposed to do now that my house is, you know, floating alone in space
SS: that might help.
